Welcome to Georgia!
Begin your wine tour when you arrive in Tbilisi and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure with no guided activities.
Overnight in Tbilisi

Your tour will begin with a visit to the historical district of Metekhi, where you will visit the Assumption Church located on the picturesque hill. The cable car will take you to Narikala fortress – the symbol of Tbilisi located on a hill. Excellent location for memorable photos. Your tour will continue to the sulfuric baths – royal baths complex of XVII-XIX centuries, one of the most famous sights of the Old Town.
Later you will drive to the town of Mtskheta and visit Jvari Monastery, located on the top of the mountain. This area offers breathtaking views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers and entire city. After enjoying the view you will visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral- the Cathedral of XI century, the main cathedral of Georgia.
Lunch with a winemaker in a village, sample traditional Georgian food! After lunch we visit Chateau Mukhrani to get a fascinating insight into the traditions and secrets of Georgian wine-making, mixed with ripping stories about the Georgian royal family. Tour in fabulous castle and cellars, wonderful gardens and vineyards are waiting for you. Drive back to Tbilisi.

After breakfast you will head to the picturesque region of Kakheti (one of the most ancient winemaking regions) trough Gombori pass, where you will visit Alaverdi Monastery-located at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains. It is founded by the Assyrian monk Joseph Alaverdeli in the VI century. Monastery is well-known for its unique wine cellar and vessels-Qvevris and owes a millennium tradition of wine making by monks living there. Your excursion will continue to Nekresi-the monastery complex overlooks Alazani Valley.
Later we visit a very unique winery producing biodynamic wines with excellent views of the Great Caucasus Mountains on the backdrop of vineyards. Take in the serenity and positive energy brimming from the whole place.
Feast your eyes and enchant your taste buds as today’s dinner is at a unique wine cellar run by a couple making unfiltered wine with love and quality grapes.
It isn’t just the wine at this stunning artsy place that will have your jaw on the floor. The Asian-Georgian fusion of foods, plus the art everywhere you look, will leave you delighted and curious for more.
They produce fine natural wines with traditional Georgian qvevri-style winemaking methods dating back over 8000 years.

This morning you explore Telavi – the center of Kakheti region, well-known for its delightful landscapes. There you can see 900- years’ old tree. Here you will visit Batonis Tsikhe-the house museum of favorable Georgian King Erekle the II and Tsinandali- the patrimony of famous Georgians-Chavchavadzes. The manor is known of its amazing labyrinth-gathered with exotic trees in it and with cellars, where the unique collection of Georgian and European wine is preserved. Here you will have the chance to taste 4 types of wine and of course, Tsinandali-white dry, specific for this village.
Later you visit the impressive Khareba Wine Tunnel stretching for 7km. Here you will have a tour around the factory, degustation of local wines, as well as a master class on baking Georgian bread Shoti and national sweet Churchkhela.
Later you visit Ikalto Monastery and its academy founded in the 11th Century, where viticulture was taught as well as theology and philosophy.
Enjoy traditional Georgian lunch.
Later you visit Shumi Winery to get in touch with the Georgian mythology and wine history, get acquainted with the varieties of vines created by folk selection for millennia and taste them. The first wine museum in Georgia, where the exhibits discovered during archeological excavations are preserved (the oldest of them is 6000 years old).

After breakfast you visit a local cellar producing artisanal natural wines according to ancient Georgian traditions, where tasting will be offered with light snacks. After wine-tasting we travel to Kvareli. For lunch we visit a local farmer’s house in the village. You will be invited into this welcoming local establishment to enjoy organic food and wine and take part in the famous Supra, a feast led by the Tamada (the toastmaster). The experience here will allow you to be immersed in the food and wine of Kakheti and learn about folklore and agricultural traditions.

This morning you drive to a remote village and visit the “Qvevri” (clay amphora) workshop in the house of a 4th generation “Qvevri” master who is also an amazing winemaker and learn all about the ancient Georgian traditional Qvevri wine-making secrets inscribed as a UNSCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
Visit the picturesque town of Sighnaghi, the most romantic town in Georgia, known as “love town”, and take a leisurely stroll through this beautiful town admiring the fabulous views towards the High Caucasus range in the distance. It is famous for its architecture in the style of southern Italian classicism.
Lunch in a fabulous winery overlooking the vineyard and the Greater Caucasus Mountains looming in the distance. It is one of the top experiences for anyone interested in learning more about natural winemaking. Ask questions about Georgia’s unique qvevri vessels. Experience foraged and local ingredient-highlighted dishes that will have you wanting to move to Georgia in no time.

Set out on a day tour to Stepantsminda, a beautiful town nestled against a mountain backdrop in northeastern Georgia. Enjoy the stunning drive along the Tergi River en route. On arrival, embark on a leisurely walk uphill from the center of town, through stunning valleys and beautiful forest to the mountaintop Gergeti Trinity Church. Built in the 14th century, this church is surrounded by vast natural beauty, with majestic panoramic views out in all directions. Weather permitting, you may catch a glimpse of one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus – Mt. Kazbegi, at 16,550 feet.
Afterwards you’ll be treated to lunch with a local family, along with a Khinkali (dumpling) making demonstration.
Drive to Tbilisi pausing en route to visit the historic Ananuri Fortress complex. Dating back to the 17th century, the complex features two churches and a fortress in a beautiful setting overlooking the Aragvi River. Historically, the castle was the scene of numerous feudal battles featuring the dukes of Aragvi.

After breakfast take the funicular for panoramic views of the city, followed by a visit to the National Museum (closed on Mondays) which will give excellent context to your experiences from the tour. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax, go shopping or enjoy a glass of wine at one of the many nice cafes or wine shops. There will be a farewell dinner this evening at an excellent local restaurant and of course there will be Georgian wines to enjoy.
